NET 2023 will be a hybrid of virtual and in-person events. Registration for all events is done through the registration form which will available here in late January.
In general, there are two kinds of NET events:
Competitive events include the team-based written Power Round and the Economics Bowl.
Registration for competitive events is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so encourage your team to register ASAP!
Each team must consist of 4 students (and one optional alternate) from the same high school, and each school may send only 1 team.
Educational events include our professor talks, graduate students talks, and the undergraduate panel.
Schools that registered after the competitive event cap has filled can still experience our educational events virtually.
Students from schools with a registered team can experience our educational events virtually.
Each team must have a faculty member or parentas their advisor.
competitive events - Power Round
To make NET a learning experience accessible to all, this year our Power Round will be administered asynchronously in two parallel tracks:
The Novice Division is designed for contestants with little or no prior experience in studying economics/calculus.
The Advanced Division is designed for contestants who have more background in studying economics/calculus.
High schools that offer AP or IB Economics classes (or other college-level equivalents) should select the Advanced Division during registration.
Schools may only register one team, and cannot register multiple teams in different divisions.
Schools will select their division during registration.
