Alumni Event: "Can Technology Save the World? Lessons from Economic History" An Evening with Professor Joel Mokyr
Many thanks to all the alumni, faculty and staff who attended Joel’s lecture on March 4th, entitled “Can Technology Save the World? Lessons from Economic History.” With his characteristic wit and insight, Professor Mokyr took listeners on a tour of economic history and offered an analysis of current economic and technological problems facing the world today. Erring on the side of hope, Mokyr presented technology, not as the definitive cure-all for every future problem but as merely a very powerful tool; what we do with it is up to us.
