Introduces key economic concepts and decision-making tools to help students understand trade-offs, incentives, and opportunity cost.
Week 2: Budgeting
Covers how to create and manage a personal budget by tracking income, expenses, and financial goals.
Week 3: Post-Secondary Planning
Explores education and career pathways after high school, along with how to evaluate costs, benefits, and funding options.
Week 4: Taxes
Breaks down how taxes work, why they’re collected, and how to read and complete basic tax forms.
Week 5: Saving and Investing
Teaches the importance of saving early, the power of compound interest, and the basics of investment options.
Week 6: Borrowing and Credit
Explains how credit works, how to use loans responsibly, and how credit scores are built and maintained.
Week 7: Insurance
Introduces different types of insurance and how risk management protects individuals from financial loss.
