Annie Liang is a microeconomic theorist whose research is in economic theory (in particular, learning and information), and the application of machine learning methods for model building and evaluation. Prof Liang's research uses ML techniques to improve economic models, and conversely uses economic frameworks
to better design the acquisition and use of novel data. Her research focuses on 1) Machine Learning for Evaluating and Improving Economic Models, 2) Economic Implications of Big Data, and 3) Dynamic Information Acquisition.
