On February 1, 2024, the Department of Economics hosted a lecture and reception honoring former Department of Economics professor and Nobel Laureate Dale Mortensen

The lecture, titled "Workers, Firms, and Wages: The Legacy of Dale Mortensen," was presented by Robert Shimer, Department Chair and the George J. Stigler Distinguished Service Professor in Economics at The University of Chicago.

Watch Professor Shimer's lecture here.

Following the lecture, Dale Mortensen's family, along with current and former faculty, students, and friends, gathered in the Department of Economics Light Court for a reception. The Department of Economics is thankful to our donors, whose generosity makes events such as this possible, as well as a special thank you to the Mortensen Family for all their contributions.
